Ag Ed Boosters
On February 25, 2008 a well attended meeting was held in the Chickasaw Library basement to explore the possibilities of re-establishing an Agricultural Education program at Marion Local. This meeting was due to the efforts of Dr. Mark Hardesty with the Maria Stein Animal Clinic. Mark, the chairperson of the MCDO agricultural committee, had long promoted Ag Ed at Marion Local. For various reasons, the program had been dropped some years prior and the approach of having ML students enroll in the St. Henry program was not truly effective. Core attendees at this first meeting evolved into the Ag Ed Boosters. The hard work of the boosters and excellent cooperation from the ML board and administration resulted in the establishment of a new program starting in the fall of 2010. By many, many measures, the Ag program at ML has been a resounding success.
